ASL 111 Elementary ASL I

This course introduces the fundamental elements of American Sign Language within a cultural context. Emphasis is placed on the development of basic expressive and receptive skills, as well as practical application through field experience and community engagement. Upon completion, students will be able to comprehend and respond with grammatical accuracy in expressive American Sign Language, demonstrate cultural awareness, and apply foundational ASL skills in real-world settings. This course has been approved for transfer under the CAA as a general education course in Humanities/Fine Arts. This course has been approved for transfer under the ICAA as a general education course in Humanities/Fine Arts.
