Dear Mitchell Student,
Welcome to Mitchell Community College! We are honored that you have chosen Mitchell as part of your educational journey. Whether your goal is to earn a degree, transfer to a university, gain workforce credentials, advance your career, or explore a new opportunity, you are now part of a community that is committed to your success.
At Mitchell, we believe education has the power to change lives. Every day, our faculty and staff work to create meaningful learning experiences and provide the support, resources, and encouragement students need to achieve their goals. We are proud to serve our students, our communities, and our region by helping individuals build brighter futures for themselves and their families.
This Student Handbook is designed to be a helpful guide as you navigate your experience at the College. While Mitchell is committed to supporting you every step of the way, your success also depends on your active engagement and commitment to your education. As you begin your journey, I encourage you to:
- Ask for help. Successful students know when to seek assistance. Our faculty and staff are here to support you.
- Get involved. Build relationships with classmates, instructors, advisors, and staff. Participate in campus activities and take advantage of opportunities beyond the classroom.
- Stay focused and organized. Develop habits that help you manage your time and responsibilities effectively.
- Set goals. Establish both short-term and long-term goals, celebrate your progress, and continue challenging yourself to grow.
- Take care of yourself. Your physical, mental, and emotional well-being are important foundations for academic success.
Most importantly, remember that you belong here. You have the ability to succeed, and an entire community is ready to help you along the way.
