Corporate and Continuing Education Programs
Allied Health
These programs provide training in medical fields such as nurse assistant (CNA), medical office administrative staff training (MOAST), billing and coding, phlebotomy, clinical medical assistant (CCMA), and EKG technician. Each course is designed to prepare students for state certification. Coursework is offered for initial certification, recertification and job upgrade.
Community Service
These programs personally enrich adults in our community addressing an array of special interests. Classes may include sewing, dance, guitar, calligraphy, painting, photography, quilting, stained glass, as well as other topics. The Community Service Program also sponsors various special events.
Occupational Extension
These programs are specifically designed to establish and upgrade individuals' employable skills. Pre-licensing, certification and continuing education courses include industry readiness for a variety of local needs such as real estate, notary public, truck driving/CDL, building and electrical contracting, welding, HVAC, manufacturing, machining, and vehicle safety and emissions inspection. Classes are scheduled on an ongoing regular basis.
Public Safety
This program offers on-going training for emergency support service occupations. Emergency medical training (EMT), telecommunicator, fire protection training, paralegal certificate, and basic law enforcement training (BLET) are offered through Mitchell's public safety programming. Registration fees may be waived for currently for active members of fire or rescue departments.
Human Resources Development (HRD)
This program provides employability skills training for unemployed and under-employed adults and is beneficial for dislocated workers, anyone seeking employment or advancement, or those interested in returning to school for re-training. Topics include the impact of technology in the workplace, re-employment procedures, effective communication skills, resume writing, interviewing strategies, college preparation, study skills, and career exploration.
