Esthetics Technology Certificate Program [C55230]

Program Information

The Esthetics Technology curriculum provides competency-based knowledge, scientific/artistic principles and hands-on fundamentals associated with the art of skin care. The curriculum provides a simulated salon environment which enables students to develop manipulative skills. Some hours available online.

Course work includes instruction in all phases of professional Esthetics Technology, business/human relations, product knowledge, and other related topics.

Graduates should be prepared to take the North Carolina Cosmetology State Board Licensing Exam and upon passing be licensed and qualify for employment in beauty and cosmetic/skin care salons, as a platform artist, and in related businesses.

Program Learning Outcomes

  • Upon completion of the esthetics program students will be able to demonstrate proficiency in various skin care techniques such as facials, waxing, artificial lash application, lash and brow tint, lash lifts, and brow laminations.

  • Adhering to the industry safety and infection control standards .

  • Analyze client’s needs and provide a professional, customized client service. While maintaining a high level of professionalize and client satisfaction .

  • Create and understanding the basic business and the ability to succeed as a small business owner.

  • Master the skill set to pass the North Carolina State Board of Cosmetic Art Examiners Theory and Practical Exam.

Technical Requirements

The practice of cosmetology involves cognitive, sensory, affective, and psychomotor performance requirements. Therefore, the essential eligible requirements for participants in a cosmetology program shall be further defined according to the following standards:

Student success in the college environment requires strong written and verbal communication usinsg several different technologies. Student email assigned by the college. Cosmetic Arts students must sign in or log in and be able to use college software applications such as Self Service, Learning Management System, etc.
