Bookstore

Mitchell owns and operates a bookstore on the Statesville Campus which sells books, supplies, clothing, electronics and gifts. The bookstore is in the Montgomery Student Union and is open Monday through Thursday 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. and Friday 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. The bookstore offers an online Bookstore and a choice for students to pick up their online textbook order(s) in Statesville or Mooresville. Textbook orders may also be shipped for an additional charge. The College recommends that students attend the first class before purchasing their books. Campus Security and Crime Awareness

Mitchell is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for students, employees and visitors. Mitchell security officers are employees of the College. These officers are responsible for enforcing parking regulations and reporting any on-campus violations. During hours of operation, individuals may report a crime or emergency by calling the switchboard operator “0.” After hours, individuals may call (704) 880-2569 or “911.”

If there is an emergency on campus, the College will broadcast an announcement through the Emergency Mass Notification System (Speakers, Message Boards, Emails, College Telephone System, and Text Messages). Students and the public can view Mitchell’s crime statistics at mitchellcc.edu/ about-mcc/campus-safety-and-security.


Academic Advising Student Services Division

Student Services Advising Department is located in the Eason Student Services Building on the Statesville Campus and in Brawley Building on the Mooresville Campus. The department's email address is advising@mitchellcc.edu.

Student Support Services

Mitchell Community College provides student support, including: Mitchell Market (food pantry), emergency financial assistance, Student Assistance Program (MYGroup): Crisis intervention 24/7, assistance with life/college/ work-balance, personal financial planning and legal assistance.

Accessibility Services

To ensure equal access to educational opportunities, the College is committed to providing reasonable accommodations for qualified students with documented disabilities. Students are responsible for initiating a request for accommodations and can do so by meeting with the Director of Accessibility Services and providing professional documentation of his or her stated disability. The Director of Accessibility Services is on the first floor of the Student Services Center. Financial Aid and Scholarships

The goal of the Financial Aid Office is to provide qualifying students assistance with covering tuition, fees, books and supplies. Types of aid include Federal grants, State grants, Veteran's Education Benefits and Scholarships. To apply for financial aid, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.gov. Need assistance? Attend Tuesday FAFSA Completion event located in the Eason Student Services building.

To apply for a Scholarship. complete a Mitchell Scholarship application, located an Mitchell's website or in person in the Financial Aid Office in Mooresville or Statesville. Library

Mitchell Community College has two campus libraries. The J.P. and Mildred Huskins Library, located on the Statesville Campus, and the Mooresville Campus Library provide resources which support and enhance instructional programs at Mitchell Community College. Library services include reserve and reference assistance, book selection, group or individual library orientation and instruction, and interlibrary loan. Students have access to print and online resources, individual computers, computer labs, group study rooms, and a Makerspace. Students can print, scan, and copy documents. The library web page contains pertinent library information, access to the library catalog, e-Books, library forms, links to research guides, and resources for student research. Librarians are available for instruction and research assistance, using print and electronic resources for individuals, small groups, or classes. Work-Based Learning Program (WBL)

Work-Based Learning is a program that bridges classroom learning with real-world work experience, offering students practical benefits. This program allows students to apply their knowledge in a professional setting related to their field of study.
